Are You Simply A Footprint By The River

I have been thinking about how the word friendship gets used and thrown around with no regard for its meaning. I see people treating their friends as if they are simply disposable. I will throw you away once there is nothing else I need from YOU, or want you to do for ME.

My grandmother always said people like that were “INVISIBLE” totally missing footprints. They spend their lives being internally focused… so it’s all about THEM all day every day.

I feel that friends are an important ingredient in the recipe of life. They bring wonderful experiences and insights into our lives that are priceless. They know all about you and they love you anyway. It’s a relationship built on mutual trust and respect. It is supportive, enlightening, and provides an unconditional safe place to fall whenever you need it.

Here’s something to think about …hopefully people let you know how they feel about you every day.  But, if not, what they say about you at the end of your life is all about how you lived your life, and how you gave of yourself along the way. You only have one life, what a waste having it only be about YOU…24/7…WOW…always the SAME.

You are the only one who can decide how you walk thru this world.  You can be like the footprints by the river, non existent,  or you can live as though we are all connected.

One day, you’ll be just a memory for some people.  Are you doing your best to make it a good one?

Just remember… it’s never to late…life is about making changes that help you grow and become a better person.

Ya’ll come back now…

This is great Mel! You are leaving way more than footprints by the river with all the wisdom from your family that you are sharing with others all these years. Most families don’t communicate the way yours has…:)

    • Hey there my friend!!!!! Thanks for reading my blog and for commenting. You are that forever friend…known you for 30 years(?), and no matter the time between stalking each other (calling multiple times, leaving long messages)it’s like we just hung out or talked to one another. And, yes I truly like my family…we have our stuff but we leave nothing unsaid good or bad. It works for me!!!!! We will speak again soon..

      LOL

Yay!! I was wondering the other day where you went! Missed your words of wisdom! I went to a funeral today of a dear friend and his brother spoke of the dash between your birth and your death. That dash being your life. So make sure you are proud of your dash and you live with integrity and give of yourself, be a good friend, mother, father, child etc. I will never tire of that analogy. Nice to read your blog again..xoxo
